Several elevator firms were involved in the modernization of these units. Consulting firm Van Deusen & Associates worked on behalf of the client to ensure that microprocessor controls were generic. Otis Elevator, selected to do the installation, worked with Elevator Controls Corp. (EC) on the controllers. The EC model V800 with PVF microprocessor-based group system helped to simplify both installation and maintenance.

The NAVTP Annual Forum
The NAVTP Annual Forum is held in the spring of each year at various locations. These workshops last approximately three days and consist of the following opportunities:

Industry Gives a Lift to Hurricane Victims
While New Orleans has received most of the media attention as it recovers from the effects of Hurricane Katrina, the Mississippi Gulf Coast actually felt the brunt of the powerful storm. The high winds and storm surge laid waste to many homes and businesses along the shore, including those in Pascagoula, Mississippi, where the storm surge was estimated at 18 feet high.
